Fenner curved tooth flexible gear coupling is the result of many years of experience in the field of mechanical power transmission.These gear couplings are known for their mechanical flexibility and compensation for angular, parallel and axial misalignment of the connecting shaft.They are widely used in metal rolling mills, paper machinery, cranes, dredgers, rubber and plastic industries, cement plants, conveyors and elevators, compressors, fans and blowers,
General industries such as screens.The flexible coupling is basically composed of two hubs with crown external teeth and two external sleeves with internal straight teeth.

The gear hub and outer sleeve are made of carbon steel and hardened to the required degree.They are processed to fine tolerances to achieve the correct meshing and interchangeability of the gears.

Why choose gear couplings?


Gear couplings are used to connect two rotating shafts to effectively transmit mechanical power.Although the shaft has been accurately aligned during installation, it is likely to interfere with the alignment due to foundation settings, thermal expansion, shaft deflection, wear of other components, improper maintenance, etc. during operation.Due to this unavoidable misalignment that occurs during operation, gear couplings provide a better solution to compensate or minimize the effects of misalignment.


Therefore, the gear coupling is very suitable for a wide range of applications in the entire drive technology field.

The main function of any gear coupling is not only to connect two rotating shafts, but also to adapt to the misalignment of the connecting shaft. ELIGN gear couplings can adapt to the following three types of misalignment.

 

A. Radial

When the axis of the connecting shaft is parallel but not on the same straight line

B. Angle

When the axes of the connected shafts intersect at the center of the coupling but are not on the same straight line.  

C. Combination of radial and angle When the axes of the connected shafts do not intersect and are not parallel at the coupling point. 


In addition to the above three types of misalignment, ELIGN gear couplings also allow axial movement of the shaft.

Generally, the allowable angular deviation of ELIGN gear couplings is 0.75 per half.However, this does not mean that the deviation is allowed to reach this limit from the beginning of the initial installation.As the misalignment occurs during operation, the Elign gear coupling will deal with it without excessive damage to the connected equipment. However, due to the relative movement between the hub teeth and the housing teeth, the teeth will wear quickly. The life of the shaft may be shortened.Therefore, it is very important to accurately align the interconnected shafts during initial installation.
